Vogue - Fall-Winter 2000-2001 Haute Couture Collections

Vogue Cover February 2001

Our very own Kate Moss appears on the cover of the 'Special Collections' edition of Vogue in February 2001

One of the feature articles in this edition of 'Vogue' tells us about the monochrome (the 'pulsion noir & blanc' announced on the cover) collection by Franck Sorbier - it is reproduced below:

"Now in his fourth Haute Couture season, Franck Sorbier received sponsorship not only from LVMH, but also from cinema and theater director Robert Hossein, to whom the collection was dedicated. In this spirit, the show opened on rising star Claire Borotra, who then announced all the outfits that followed. Remarkable work in raw materials was shown in a simple palate of black, white, grey, earth tones and silver, and the designer clearly enjoys working with voluminous ball gowns and rigid, formfitting bustiers in tulle, black horsehair or organza. Certain models stood out, including “La Belle et la Bête” in pink satin ribbons and shiny fabric – dubbed, simply, ‘sparkling’ – and dishevelled horsehair; “Angélique”, with riding crop, bustle, tulle skirt and a multitude of ribbons was modelled by actress and TV presenter Hélène Noguerra."
